Blue Waters part ways with Guruseb
Namibian Premier League (NPL) outfit Blue Waters have parted ways with their coach Christie Guruseb.
The club cited lack of performance as the reason they terminated his contract, effective from 17 April.
“We regretfully notify you that after a series of serious considerations, we have concluded that blue Waters demand the termination of your services due to lack of efficient performance shown by you,” said a statement released by the club.
“You have shown indifference towards the cause of Blue Waters Football Club for a prolonged period. We have continually been monitoring your actions and we found no trace of the slightest improvement in your performance.”
Guruseb said it is in the best interest of the club. “At the end of the day it is not about me, it is about the players.”
He said football is a big part of his life and he will now focus on developing young players in the country.
Guruseb, who has also coached Civics, Ramblers, Orlando Pirates and the Hardap regional under-20 team, took over at the coastal outfit in January.
He had been appointed to get the very best out of the players and bring some young talent through from the youth structures.
Guruseb was also employed to steer the team away from the relegation zone, so they end the season among the top eight sides in the league.
