Bank Windhoek bids farewell to long-serving Steyn

Bank Windhoek’s collateral compliance department recently bade farewell to one of its long-serving colleagues, 61-year-old Rosa Steyn, who has worked for the bank for 24 years.

At the occasion, Steyn was also presented with the long-service award.

Steyn’s journey with Bank Windhoek started in 1994 when she joined as a clerk. She then climbed the corporate ladder and retired as a senior compliance officer in July this year. Her farewell was graced by the bank’s managing director Baronice Hans who congratulated Steyn for her long-service commitment towards Bank Windhoek.

Her colleagues said Steyn’s farewell was a memorable event that was filled with laughter, joy and that they will miss her personality the most.

On her part, Steyn said that her retirement date arrived sooner than she expected and that it was hard to say goodbye.

“I had an amazing and enjoyable 24 years at Bank Windhoek. I would love to thank everyone who contributed to the positive and good memories created over the years, of which I will forever treasure,” she said.

Steyn has embarked on a new journey.

She is currently visiting her children in New Zealand for a few months before she returns to Namibia early next year.

She concluded her goodbyes with an Irish blessing which reads: “May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields.”
