Windhoek mayor Job Amupanda says he is keen to see more cultural, sports and infrastructure exchanges between Namibia and Indonesia.
He made the remarks during a courtesy call by the Indonesian ambassador to Namibia, Wisnu Edi Pratignyo.
Amupanda said Indonesia has been working with the City on cultural exchanges throughout the years.
“We have been working together on the aspect of culture; we have succeeded, now we must move to sports,” Amupanda said.
The mayor also expressed his wish to see more assistance from Indonesia in infrastructure development.
According to him, Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital - which is home to 11 million residents - has insight that Windhoek could benefit from.
