American debut beckons for Desert Storm
Another weekend of boxing action beckons, with AC Boxing Academy's Sakaria 'Desert Storm' Lukas expected to make his American debut against Mexican boxer Isaac 'Canelito' Avelar on Saturday at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

Undefeated 36-year-old Namibian featherweight Sakaria Lukas has a lot of pressure on his shoulders as he returns to the ring to face Mexican Isaac Avelar, who is 10 years his junior.
This is the second international fight for a Namibian boxer in the space of a week.
On Saturday, Julius 'Blue Machine' Indongo, who is also signed to AC Boxing Academy, lost to Kazakhstan's Daniyar Yeleussinov, who claimed the IBF intercontinental title after making mincemeat out of the Namibian with a second-round technical knockout.
It is now up to Desert Storm to bring back some shine to the academy, which Immanuel 'AC' Moses is running without a sponsor.

“Desert Storm's performance will really determine a lot for the rest of the boxers under the stable. There are many boxers who want to join Moses because of his dedication to the sport.
“He took these boxers to America. It's unfortunate that Indongo lost, but Desert Storm might turn things around on Saturday. He should really focus on doing well, and bringing a different feel and dimension to the bout,” said a local fan who follows the boxers religiously but didn't want to be named.
Another boxing fan, Mala David, said he also follows the boxers and can tell that Lukas is hungry for a debut win.
“A spectacular victory could catapult his career to the next level. You see when he trains how much he wants to win. He needs to think out of the box and use his experience to beat his opponent.
“It takes guts and determination to be at the stage he is at the moment. I support him, and I think the rest of the fans should really back him up. Boxing is a painful business,” added David.

The fight will be an undercard of the bout between Errol Spence Jr and Danny Swift Garcia. Lukas was slated to fight America's Jesse Magdeleno in March at New York's Madison Square Garden in what was to be a thrilling 10-round featherweight fight.
However, the fight was called off due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the boxer had to wait nine months before he could secure another opponent.
