A solitary view: Life in society
Every word thought, every sentence written and every conversation spoken now and then, days are deprived self-thoughts.
Children, no matter what their age, have all been taught what to say. This is not done so by their parents or by their teachers but it all comes from these common words spoken every day yet no one truly understands what it stands for 'society'. Well truly, the word society is a word for all of us. It is defined by the changes and the interactions within us. In short, we make the society. Each one of us judges, that is why we belong to society.
We might say we do not; however the human mind cannot help but to do so.
It has been made impossible because of how society works.
Welcome to society, where teenagers are just children with adult minds. Where a single opinion can affect one's future. That is if society decides to build a future.
Where all we do is challenge each other physically and one has to live according to one's will. Society can be so cruel sometimes if not all the time, and that, I realised. By now, I can assure all of us all live by the words “head up, stay strong, fake smile, move on”.
And I repeat “FAKE”. Well it seems like “fake” is the new strong. Condone society but expect your confidence to bite the dust. Expect advice to come from your worst enemy because honest is the new rude and friends come and go like micro overprint in fugitive ink. Trust and relationships can now be compared to those Pep shoes, “easy on, easy off”. Society is now teaching us how to live our lives and how to be like everyone else. Remember, once humanity is lost, self-worth is gone too, because humanity is an ocean, if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty. Society has classified the poor as “we” and the rich as “I”. Now and then, society leads astray. It decides on one's future, and uses one's past to judge then, but keep in mind that man makes history but there is no way history can make man. So why be society? Be stupid, dumb, and funny if that is who you are. Do not try to be someone society wants you to be because everyone else is taken. Be your own leader because if there is no leader, society stands still and leads you instead. Art, freedom and creativity will change society before politics does.
Black label
So, society decides to label us and one thing fond of us is accepting the labels granted. I asked my mother if black is my name, and I am still trying to figure out where in the bible it is written that I am black. The rainbow has seven colours and not even red or blue was chosen for me, but I can choose it for myself. If I can be what I want to be, then I bet I can be any colour I want to be too. I am not white, neither am I black.
The labels society gives us, like skinny, ugly, selfish and others, do not have to become the reality of us. They are not even permanent like Nike, Puma or Adidas. Society expects one to be perfect with no flaws and no mistakes. God made us perfect, if I may say.
With no faults, because only manufactured things come with faults. But the type of perfection society refers to is beyond humanity. It looks like the game society is trying to play on us is survival of the fittest, so be a rough diamond and play the game well like it's chess.
