A bliss or curse to be a millennial

I’m pretty sure everyone can attest to the fact that nothing in life comes easy. It simply does not matter who you are or what your background is. We all start at beginning of the line and end, by God’s grace, at the finish. What’s upsetting is that today’s generation (including me) sometimes want to take shortcuts to obviously get somewhere faster which no effort put in at all. These people from my observation are usually the quickest to blame their failures on everybody else and never themselves.

To make a bit of sense I can give ample examples from the entertainment industry alone. Back then everyone struggled and worked hard to get where they are today. This included walking to and from performance venues to walking to recording studios just to create music we all enjoyed when growing up. Mara, something about today’s creatives amazes me really. First of all, the talent is rarely there and secondly, they believe that they are owe life and so much more. To make it worse nobody seems to want to learn anymore, it’s all about I know it all and I got so far with my knowledge so you can’t tell me nothing.

How then, do we build anything at all if those who don’t know claim to know, and those who know don’t want to share because even if they share, nobody is willing to learn? There is a list of what millennials are killing and on that list is the willingness to learn. The future generations will not know when to ask for help to improve on where they are lacking or even just to get a second opinion on anything. What I’m trying to say is let’s learn to listen and not just hear what you are being told. Last but not least, not everyone who is correcting you wants you to fail. It could be genuine criticism.
