Maize meal products prices to decrease
Namib Mills fully supports the Namibian farmers and will always buy locally first.

Namib Mills announced that that there will be a price decrease on all maize meal products effective, 1 November 2020.
The Namibian maize industry is supported by government, which ensures Namibian farmers have a market for their maize as part of a marketing initiative, says Pieter van Nieker the commercial manager at Namib Mills.
Longer term international market averages are used to determine the local price. It is important that local production is supported, as it keeps funds in Namibia and ensures local currency is used to enhance the local economy, he pointed out.
With the Namibian harvest exhausted, maize from other regions are being procured at lower levels than what the long-term average is, this decrease is in lieu of the lower short-term prices in the region, he says.
In the last couple of weeks, Namib Mills has already passed lower maize prices through to her customers and consumers, but we hereby wish to give formal notice of an 5% decrease on the list price of maize meal products, he added.
This decrease could not have come at a better time, with consumer spending down and difficult times experienced in the Namibian market, he [email protected]
