Veteran musician adds new album to his catalogue

Having been in the industry for quite some time, Setson – The Mighty Dread is known for making profound music. So, when we learned that he has a new album out we had a conversation so he could enlighten us on what this body of work is about.

Titled ‘Warriors Worried’, Setson – The Mighty Dread describes this album as Shambo (Oshiwambo music) with two reggae tracks. He shared that the album touches on different aspects of Namibia’s current situation, economically, politically and spiritually.

“In track two, ‘Warriors Worried’, we strongly condemn corruption, nepotism and greed which are at an alarming rate,” he said.

The album, which consists of six tracks, was recorded at Ndilimani Studio by Fiston, and was mixed and mastered at Welwitschia Studio in Swakopmund by Steven Naruseb.

Even though this is his fifth album, the musician maintains that to him it feels like his first, since he has been quiet for nine years and his previous albums now sound more like demos. The new album is available at Antonio’s Art and on order at 081 261 4832.
