Human remains found on farm

Police discovered human remains last Tuesday evening at Farm De-Rust in the Uis area.

According to police spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, they received a report regarding clothing and bones suspected to be human found in a field on the farm.

The farm is situated about 60 kilometres west of Uis, behind the Brandberg Mountain.

Three men from Gobabis in the Omaheke Region were reported missing in the Brandberg Mountain area on 23 March.

According to descriptions given by the missing men’s families, the clothes matched 46-year-old Dawid Uniseb.

Meanwhile on 16 April, the remains of Seun Omiseb were discovered 7 kilometres from farm De-Rust, while the remains of Abraham Kheinamseb were discovered on 25 April, 5 kilometres from the farm.

Uniseb’s remains were discovered on Tuesday about 10km from the farm.

“After the persons were reported missing in the mountainous area, a team comprising of the local police officers, Special Reserve Force from Walvis Bay, the police helicopter, the community and farmers in the area were involved in the search for months, but in vain,” Shikwambi said.
