The Deutsche Höhere Privatschule (DHPS), in collaboration with the Basketball Artists School (BAS), hosted its third edition of the annual DHPS/BAS Camp.

The camp, which focuses on teaching basic, intermediate and advanced basketball skills, was held over the course of three days, from Saturday, 24 April until yesterday.

All three days had sessions from 09:00 to 16:00.

DHPS as host of the camp offered its indoor and outdoor facilities for use.

Participation was open to children aged seven to 19. Due to health regulations, they were very cautious about the number of registrations.

A fee of N$750 guaranteed participants a T-shirt, water bottle, lunch on all three days and a participation certificate.

Special prizes were handed out to the outstanding performers, so players were encouraged to show dedication throughout.

For parents who had more than one child taking part in the camp, a special discount was offered.

Because of Covid-19, no camp was held during 2020. The last one was held in 2019 and had 100 participants. The camp is back by popular demand, said Ramah Mumba, the BAS director.

Speaking on behalf of the organisers, Malakia Matias, BAS coordinator, said: “With all the precautions and measures being taken into account, the organising team still aimed to make this camp just as memorable and fun as the ones held before it and perhaps even better.”
