Oshikuku to host agri-expo
Expo to address economic challenges
The aim of the expo is to create a platform for exhibitors in the northern areas to showcase their products and engage with potential investors.
As the number of expos continues to grow countrywide, the town of Oshikuku has joined the bandwagon and will host its first-ever Agricultural and Training Expo at the end of this month.
At least 40 farmers will have a chance to take part in both the exhibition and make use of training opportunities at the expo.
The expo is set to take place from 29 September until 1 October. The aim is to create a platform for exhibitors in the northern areas to showcase their products and engage with potential investors.

Chairperson of the expo, Parastus Nepolo, said the expo was initiated to address the economic downturn experienced in Oshikuku following Covid-19.
He said the idea was born from a desire to give hope to farmers whose livelihoods were impacted, not only by the pandemic but by droughts too.
"We have a lot of agricultural products that can reach the market, and people can make a living out of it. The problem is that there are no platforms created to help farmers and residents market and potentially grow their businesses. Hence the hosting of the expo," he said.
Nepolo said training sessions will be given on firefighting, how to establish small gardens and how to operate businesses.
"The expo stands a good chance of generating revenue through the showcasing of festivities in the town," he said.
A music talent show will also take place to create opportunities for local artists.
Deputy minister of agriculture Anna Shiweda is expected to officiate the event.
