A man who fled the scene after allegedly killing his girlfriend on Monday evening at Gwashikololo village in the Ruacana constituency handed himself over to the Oshifo police yesterday morning.
Evone Fillipus (25) died on the spot after she was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend.
The 35-year-old suspect reportedly hit the victim multiple times on her head with a pair of pliers, causing her death.
Omusati police regional commander, Commissioner Ismael Basson, said it is alleged that a fight erupted between the couple inside the suspect's sleeping room, which led to the incident.
The suspect is due to appear in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court today.
