Helping Namibians find love
tjil sat down with Namibia Media Holdings journalist Medeline Gases for a breakdown of the popular social media show 'Ohole So Nice'.
Now in its fourth season, ‘Ohole So Nice’ is Namibia’s first speed dating Show. Hosted by Madeline Gases the show airs on My Zone’s social media platforms including Instagram and Facebook.
Explaining the concept of the show, Gases told tjil that the show selects a bachelor or bachelorette. “This person goes on a series of dates – four in total. Once they complete their fourth date, they then choose someone ideal or compatible with them and go on a sponsored date courtesy of the company,” shared Gases.
On the perks that comes with hosting a dating show, Gases shared that she enjoys meeting new people who exposes her to different perspectives. “I found that aspect of the show very interesting, because it challenges my views on different matters,” she said.
When she is not on set of ‘Ohole So Nice’ and being a journalist, Gases enjoys creating her own content. “I have my own YouTube Channel where I explore my other interests including fashion, lifestyle and travel. So, I do more vlogging on my personal platform,” said Gases, adding that her YouTube channel is a conduit for her readers and viewers to keep up with her personal life.
Gases announced that after four seasons of hosting ‘Ohole So Nice’ she feels it’s time to explore other avenues, thus mentioned that she will not be the host of the show’s next season. “I will still be involved in the producing of the show, I just won’t be the host. Watch this space for our new host.”
