Bok withdraws from Miss Queen Universal
In an official statement, Miss Queen Universal Namibia announced the withdrawal of Namibia’s contestant Yverischka Bok from the pageant, citing a lack of funds.
“Despite tremendous dedication and hard work, we hereby regret to inform you of the withdrawal of Miss Universal Queen Namibia alongside Yverischka Bok, Miss Universal Queen Namibia 2022, at the international stage in the Philippines in December.
“Unfortunately, due to a lack of monetary sponsorships since August, Bok has had to fund her own way thus far, and is unable to continue funding herself. The biggest sponsor anticipated for her participation on the international platform had to withdraw due to extreme technicalities,” it read.
The disappointed Bok told tjil she was extremely excited and ready to represent Namibia, adding that she believed that she would bring home the crown.
“The international organisation handpicked me on the merit of the potential that I must advocate for mental health, not just locally but internationally.
“It is saddening that I am unable to grace the international stage and represent beautiful Namibia due to lack of funding. I will, however, continue to do all I can in my power to fight for mental health during my reign, because ultimately that serves the higher purposes,” she said.
