President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has urged institutions responsible for human resource development to conduct regular skills audits and labour-market analyses to anticipate and address skills gaps in Namibia.

Speaking ahead of the departure of Team Namibia to the 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai, China, yesterday morning, Nandi-Ndaitwah said the assessments should ensure Namibia’s workforce is aligned with national and global demands, as set out in Vision 2030.

She said this is particularly important as Namibia advances into strategic emerging sectors such as green hydrogen, oil and gas, renewable energy, advanced manufacturing and digital technology.
