Three years after its initial launch, Hemline Fashion will be celebrating its third anniversary with the launch of a first-of-its-kind fashion mobile shop called ‘The Hemliner’.

“This is an exciting new concept in Namibia, under my graceful wings,” Hemline owner Hem Matsi told Tjil. Fashion lovers will first get a taste of what will be on offer at the mobile shop at a fashion show slated for 25 March at Lounge 435.

The lounge, situated at BPI House, will provide the perfect backdrop for the collection of nearly 70 casual, office, cocktail and modern African pieces. Another treat for fashionistas will be the exclusive introduction of the Hemline bridal collection. In addition to the designer wear, the Hemline stocks designer garments, bags, shoes, accessories, Brazilian hair as well as the latest lace wigs, which will be on sale for half the normal retail price. Clothes can be tailormade to any size, with only three items per design to keep it exclusive and unique. Matsi told Tjil she used a lot of satin, silk and handmade embroidery for this collection. Prices range from N$150 to N$1 500 depending on the design.

The event will also benefit women from disadvantaged backgrounds and domestic and rape survivors as 20% of the proceeds from tickets sales will be donated to Victims2Survivors. The show starts strictly at 19h30 for 20h00, followed by exclusive shopping for two hours and “an awesome after-party” said Hem.

“The dress code is strictly black tie or traditional and if you show up later than 20h00, you will have forfeited your seat since the ticket states that your seat is reserved only until 20h00,” she said. Gal Level and Sunny Boy fans will be happy to know that the local artists will be rocking the house as well. Tickets are available at Universal Sounds and at the Old Breweries Complex.

The next Hemline show is expected to take place on 24 May. More information can be obtained at www.hemfashion.com, 0816454516 or ladyhem@gmail. com
