Iran sends movie about US soldiers in Iraq to Oscars

Farshid Motahari Tehran (dpa) - Iran has selected a movie about the lives of US soldiers in Iraq as its nominee for the Oscars in the best foreign language film category, the news network Press TV reported Tuesday.
The 100-minute film titled Farewell Baghdad is directed by Mehdi Naderi. Set in Baghdad, it portrays the lives of American and Iraqi soldiers in Iraq.
Naderi started his career in 1988 in the theatre, but later made several documentary and short films.
Farewell Baghdad is the first feature film directed by the 37- year-old Naderi.
