JUST IN: Fight breaks out at school
Grade 8 and 9 boys of Westside High School in Swakopmund got into a fight earlier today. It is alleged that the fight broke out because one of the boys was threatened by a new boy who only started at West High yesterday, placed by the circuit office.
The new boy was apparently attacked with belts with buckles, causing a massive open wound on the head. He was urgently rushed to the hospital by the police.
Principal Veneza Rheeder said: "We need the NDF to come and patrol the school on a daily basis. The kids are coming to school with sharp objects and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to protect the teachers, learners and this educational environment. We are a combined school - there are five-year-olds at this school we need to protect. Otherwise it will be tools down."
