Cimbweto knows how to make any one dance
Allan Jonathan, aka Swart Baster, has Chibweto Style as his fourth album available on the shelves.
The album starts off with the title track Chimbweto, a very danceable song that can make any-one move. It tells a story of a stubborn, stupid and idiotic guy who bunks school and even the neighbors label him as crazy and insane.
Tae-E Go Ha follows; this one is a lekker Damara Punch song. The story line behind it goes as follows; a girl, who doesn’t take no for answer keeps bothering Swart Baster and on top of that she wants to have an affair with him.
If you are into a little bit of Langarm, Ek Sak So Lag is the track for you. Rehobothers and my people in the South will definitely know how to swing to this one.
Mr Simple Datt features in Single Lady. I love this track and I had it on repeat most of the time. The collaboration is perfect and with its Afro- Pop kind of style, it can make anybody dance without noticing. It reminded me of the likes of Flavour, P-Squre, Naeto C because its gives off this north and west African type of music feeling. It had me dancing without realizing it and the Tjokwe lyrics are sweet.
Ina Khoeb Ditaras Ai Lnuiigoas with Gerry took me straight to Dolam. This song is a typical Damara Punch track that can make you swing left, right and centre. Here Swart Baster falls in love with someone else’s women, lol.
Nakuroto (I dreamt of you) is a song written in Kwangali and tells the story of a beautiful girl that he can’t seem to get out of his mind, sleepless nights and headaches is all that he gets from dreaming of her.
Gal Level feature in a track that has been receiving so much airplay on both radio and TV, Let Go Off Me is that track. Love the concept, lyrics, delivery and composition of this song and it’s also nice to hear Gal Level singing in Tjokwe.
“I just want all of you to come witness Chibweto Style on August 4 in Rundu, there is something for you,” he says. I can just give you highlights go and grab it. Sharp!
