Windhoek Jazz Festival in gear

This year’s Windhoek Jazz festival which will take place at the Hage Geingob Stadium on November 3 is in full gear, after nine established artists battled it out at an audition held in the capital last weekend.

According to the organisers and the judges, the performances of the artists was explosive and it will be a tough one to pick the winners.

The likes of Patricia Ochurus, Big Ben, Lize Ehlers, Ugly Creatures, Sigera Band and Freddy Taylor among others took part. The public will constitute 40% of the votes via SMS and the judges 60%. The SMS line is open.

The public can send the code of their favorite artist or the artists they want to see perform at the Jazz Festival to 2199. For example (The name of the artist and their codes). Only two artists from the nine will be chosen.

Corrie du Plessis, Executive Member of the Windhoek Jazz Festival Committee, said the show was well attended and the public responded to it.

“Well the votes and the judges will decide who will be the two artists that will be performing at the Jazz Festival,” he said.
