Cattle herders fight ends in death
A Love triangle between two cattle headers and a woman ended tragically for one man following a brutal confrontation over the weekend.
Nakale Vatilifa, a 29-year-old Angolan national, was killed in cold blood on Saturday with a single stab in the chest by the man he was competing with for the heart and affections of a local woman.
According to information filed at the Omusati police regional headquarters in Outapi, Vatilifa and another Angolan national, 24-year-old Immanuel Paulus, became sworn enemies after they discovered they were involved with the same woman.
Both Angolan nationals were hired by different farm owners at the Okeholongo village in the Okahao constituency to herd cattle, and have allegedly had few run-ins with each other in the past.
Omusati Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Linekela Shikongo says the two cattle herders got in an argument at a local cucashop on the day in question, at which Paulus took out his traditional knife and stabbed Vatilifa in the left side of the chest.
Paulus was denied bail on Monday when he briefly appeared at the Outapi Magistrate court on a charge of murder.
