If you ever wondered what Namibia football future looks likes, the Sam Nujoma Stadium should be your destination of choice this Saturday. This is because young, raw football talent will be on display when the Under-20 National Football team plays Rwanda at 15:00. The two teams will play the fi rst leg of qualifi ers for the African Youth Championships and local support is much needed. It is common knowledge that other African countries pack their stadiums to provide moral support for their teams when they play at home and that is no different for Rwanda. First off the bat, let me congratulate The Namibian for an excellent competition held in Keetmanshoop over the Easter weekend. Equally impressive was the hospitality with which the people of the Karas Region welcomed all the visitors.

The nature and purpose of The Namibian Newspaper Cup is entirely good and no one can find fault with the objectives of this noble tournament.
