Resurgent Pakistan eye Sri Lanka scalp

Pakistan will go into their test and one day, test series and Twenty20 matches against arch-rivals Sri Lanka with their tails up as they are considered favourites to clinch the better part of the encounters.

Pakistan are hoping to build on their impressive record over the past year when they take the field during the full tour of Sri Lanka starting later this week.

Knife attacker sent to jail for 12 years

Martin Lupalezwi, the man found guilty of a vicious attack on his girlfriend during which he stabbed her with a knife and slit her throat, leaving her for dead, was yesterday handed a 15 year jail sentence.

Windhoek Regional Court Magistrate Sarel Jacobs yesterday suspended three years from the 15 years on conditions that Lupalezwi, 32, is not convicted of a similar sentence during the suspension period. Read more about Knife attacker sent to jail for 12 years
